Magic Es Vedra


The Nature Reserve of Cala d’Hort, lies in Sant Josep on the southwest coast. The park has a variety of flora and fauna, and archaeological sites, including the Tower des Savinar; there is also an impressive collection of cliffs and rugged coast, such as the Cala Sa Pedrera d ‘Hort (Atlantis).

Starting from the church at Es Cubells, on the southwest coast, the objective is to reach the viewpoint of Es Vedrá from a cliff 100 meters above the sea. A magical place in Ibiza. On the road to Cala d’Hort we take a path leading to the Tower des Savinar.  The final approach up along the cliffs provides impressive views of Es Vedra, dominating the horizon.


Es Vedra iis an impressive island, rising to 400mts. Legends, both ancient and modern, abound. Some say that no one has ever died on the island, others attribute a supernatural magnetism that creates extrasensory experiences.

In the nineteenth century Es Vedra was a refuge for the Discalced Carmelite Francesc Palau. He survived eating gull eggs and drinking rainwater that was stored inside a cave . The Catalan mystic has reported that he had lived inexplicable experiences in Vedra.

A Mountain Bike tour route along the coast of Santa Eulària, finishing on the black sands of Cala Boix beach. Cala Boix is famous for the dark sand, and it offers a long gentle walk from the beach out into the crystal-clear water. There is always a gentle breeze and the sea is bright turquoise

Several restaurants sit on the edge of the cliff, and a beach bar with sunbeds and parasols.
